Though Wales is a part of the UK, the country has its own language as well as English. It is famous for its traditions, holidays and national music. The symbol of Wales is the Red Dragon and the national flower is the daffodil. The people of Wales celebrate their National Day on 1st March, in honour of St David, the patron saint¹ of Wales. On this day, some people wear the national costume with tall black hats and long dresses.

Wales is a country of green hills and mountains. The highest mountain is Snowdon. It is situated in the Snowdonia National Park. There are 100 lakes and 90 mountains in the Park. A lot of tourists come to the Park every year. Wales is also rich in waterfalls. There are lots of them in the country. But sometimes it is difficult to reach them. The biggest waterfall is situated in the deep forest between the hills. Imagine, it is 74 metres high!

One of the most famous and amazing sight in Wales is St Winifred's Well. The Well is formed from natural springs² and the water in it is warm. Believe it or not they say that the water in the Well has healing powers¹. Hundreds of visitors come to the Well to become strong and healthy. Rugby is very popular in the country. It is the Welsh national game. Thousands of people come to watch rugby matches in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, the capital of Wales. It is the biggest stadium in the country with 74,500 seats!
