24 Read the text. Say what the young hikers decided at the end of their trip.

Last week before our summer holidays the Head Teacher suggested that we should arrange a camping trip. All my classmates were happy to spend the weekend in the country. For me it was the first camping trip in my life. I felt really excited about it.

In the morning we met together at the bus station and went by bus to a place called Green Point. We took all the things we need for the camping trip. Like real hikers, we had tents, warm sleeping bags, comfortable hiking boots, extra sweaters and of course drinking water and some food. Our teachers had a compass, a big flashlight and a map.

Then we went hiking for five miles over the hills and fields. It was great! Although our backpacks were very heavy, we were happy to travel together. Soon we saw a river. We decided to stop there and to put up our tents on a green lawn. It was not easy for most of us. Our teachers taught us how to do it. Soon I could do it myself!

We spent two days in our camp. The weather was warm and sunny. We went for a walk round the countryside, played football, learnt to use the map and the compass. And of course, we took a lot of photos. We even went fishing in the river. Harry, my best friend, caught two fish. They were not big and we let them go back into the river.

It was a real adventure to spend a night in a sleeping bag in a tent. We enjoyed everything in our journey. We made a decision to go on a hike every year before the beginning of our summer holidays. Here are some of my photos which I took during our summer adventure.
