This is the only museum in the westernUnited States that preserves and exhibits cartoonart in all its forms. The fantastic permanentcollection includes 6,000 pieces of cartoon artand illustrations. This new state-of-the-art building was designedwith the help of Swiss architects Herzog andde Meuron. The museum houses a pricelesscollection of American art dating from 17thto 20th century. Because of its wonderfulsurroundings in the Golden Gate Park, a visitto this world-class museum combines art,architecture and natural landscapes.
