One.

Woman: Dan, can you help me?

Dan: Sure. What's the problem?

Woman: I can't log on to my Amazon account.

Dan: Okay. First, enter your username and password.

Woman: Yes. Okay. There, look, I can't log on. There's an error message. It says my password or my username is wrong.

Dan: Well, if your password is right, your username is wrong.

Woman: My username is the same as my email. Blue eyes@fgnet.com.

Dan: Ah, I see the problem. You've put blue eye@fgnet.com, not blue eyes. Type it again.

Woman: Oh, yes. You're right. Silly me. That's better. Thanks.

Two.

Man: Oh, I hate this laptop.

Woman: Why? What's wrong?

Man: It crashes all the time and I lose my work.

Woman: Have you got a backup of your work? You should make one.

Man: No. How do I do that?

Woman: Save all your documents to a DVD or to an external hard drive.

Man: I haven't got any DVDs or an external hard drive.

Woman: I've got a spare DVD here. You can use it if you like.

Man: Okay, thanks. What do I do?

Woman: It's really easy. To start off with, put the disc into the computer.

Woman: Next, double click on the disc to open it.

Man: Okay, it's open.

Woman: After that, drag your folder of work to the disc.

Man: There. It says copying fifty-seven files. There, finished.

Woman: Good. Finally, eject the disc.

Man: Brilliant. Thanks.

Three.

Woman: Tom, this website is taking ages to load. It's so slow.

Tom: Are you using a Wi-Fi network?

Woman: Yes, I am.

Tom: Where is the router?

Woman: In the living room.

Tom: Well, first of all, go into the living room. The Wi-Fi signal is stronger there.

Woman: Okay. It isn't better. It's still very slow.

Tom: Okay. Next, disconnect the router from the power source.

Woman: Okay. Now what?

Tom: Now connect it again.

Woman: Okay. It's just the same. Very slow.

Tom: Is someone else in the house online?

Woman: My little brother is playing computer games with his friends in his bedroom, and I think my sister is uploading videos onto YouTube.

Tom: Ah, that's probably the problem. Wait until they finish.
