Read an article from a popular children's magazine. Answer the questions after the article.

He's about two metres tall and he can walk on two legs. He doesn't wear any clothes and he's got red hair all over his body. People say he lives in thick Himalayan forests. He goes to snowy regions to eat a plant which has got salt. Scientists call him the Yeti. In fact, scientists have hunted the Yeti for many years. Once they found footprints in the snow on Mount Everest. These foot-prints were about 28 cm long. They showed five toes. In 2010 some hunters found a hairless creature¹ with four legs. They said it was the Yeti. But in fact it was a small hairless cat that lost its hair.

Scientists think that the Yeti is half-man and half-monkey. He can weigh at least 200–400 pounds. He is not sociable and friend-ly. The Yeti is shy that is why he comes out only at night. But he can also be aggressive and angry. He usually kills animals. He can run very fast (60 km/hr) both on four and two feet.

There are a lot of stories about the Yeti. But no one knows where he really lives. Does he live in a cave or in the forest? Is the monster real? There is no answer to these questions. In some stories, the Yeti attacks hunters. Many people think that the Yeti legends are a warning to stay at home and to stay away from dan-gerous wild animals.

The Yeti is a popular figure in folklore and cartoons. There are different toys and games that use creatures like yetis.
