Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the Sherlock Holmes Museum. According to the stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes and Doctor John H. Watson lived in this building at two hundred twenty-one B Baker Street between eighteen eighty-one and nineteen o-four.

In nineteen ninety, the Sherlock Holmes Museum opened in this building.

This museum is unique in many ways. First, it's a museum about a fictional character. Sherlock Holmes is not a real person. Second, as you can see, very little here is locked in glass cases. You can leaf through the books Sherlock Holmes read. You can sit in his armchair. You can put on his hat. But we don't allow anyone to smoke his pipe.

It's interesting to note that Holmes appears in fifty-four short stories and four novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Well-known Russian actor, Vasiliy Livanov, is considered one of the best. In two thousand and six, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire for his excellent performance.
