What's you favourite British pop group or who is your favourite British singer?

Rose Hunter: My pop icon is Mark Ronson. He is a record producer, a singer and songwriter. He began composing music while he was working as a DJ to earn money for his university studies. He has five Grammy Awards. It is not so many as some other singers have, but it's still an achievement. I also like him because he does a lot to help children from poor families and supports beginner musicians.

Jane Foster: My favourite British singer and songwriter is Ed Sheeran. Last month I went to his concert. It was amazing. While he was singing his best hits, all the people in the concert hall were dancing along. I know that he wrote the soundtracks for some American TV series. Those songs are not so popular as the ones which made him famous but they are still very good.

Tom Dash: I love Adele. She grew up in a working-class family. She decided she wanted to be a musician when she was studying at the BRIT school. Her first live performance was a success. Her voice is really unique, that is why her songs are not so energetic as the ones by other modern pop performers, but they are really soulful.

When a comparison is negative, it shows that two things are not equal. The structure used is not so + adjective/adverb + as. This means that the first item has less of the quality than the second item. For example, in the sentence "Spice Girls are not so popular as The Beatles," it means The Beatles are more popular.
