Dear Sven,

Thank you for the letter. It was nice to hear from you, but (A) I was sorry to hear about your problems at university. I'm sure you'll soon get used to living (B) _____ . I remember my first year. For the first couple of weeks I felt like crying all the time (C) _____ . The only thing that prevented me from leaving were my studies, which I really enjoyed. I shut myself (D) _____ .
