Dear Grandma,

I want to tell you about our trip to Washington, D.C. We got here on Friday night. The next day we went to the National Zoo. It was raining, so we spent a lot of time looking at reptiles. They're indoors! On Saturday we toured the White House. I have learnt a lot of interesting things about the home of the President of the United States and his family. In the evening we went to a concert but Paul and I didn't like the music very much. On Sunday we took an elevator to the top of the Washington Monument and got a great view of the city. In the afternoon, we walked in a sculpture garden. Then we sat on the grass, ate ice cream and watched how people flew kites. It was a beautiful day. You can imagine how tired we were in the evening!

Today we went to the Museum of Natural History. We spent the whole day there.

Tomorrow we're going to drive to Assateague Island in Maryland. I'd like to see the wild ponies there! I'll write about it soon.

Do you know that almost all the museums here are free?
