A. The Scarlet Sails 1 is a wonderful festival which is held in St Petersburg every summer, in June. The boats’ parade takes place on the Neva River in front of the Winter Palace. The ship with scarlet sails is the main participant of the amazing show. The colourful fireworks go off to classical music. The Scarlet Sails is a very romantic event. It was created in honour of school graduates 2 and is very popular with them.

B. For many years an international music festival has been taken place on Red Square, Moscow, in the end of the summer. It is called Spasskaya Tower Festival. The traditional participants of the festival are Russian and foreign military 3 music bands from all over the world. The musicians perform military, classical, folk and popular music. The festival is famous for its grand parade of military music bands and dance shows.

C. This unusual festival is held in Vladivostok every autumn. Thousands of people take part in Tiger Day Festival. The festival in honour of the Amur tiger, which is one of the world's most endangered species, started in 2000. The main event of the festival is the costumed parade. Children, teenagers, young people and grown-ups wear Tiger costumes and masks, carry colourful balloons and special posters. They try to encourage people to save Amur tigers and other wildlife in the Russian Far East.

D. Skiing, skating, figure skating, hockey, snowboarding are very popular in Russia. The Winter Sports Day is a new winter sports event which appeared after the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. The festival is held in February, the snowiest month of the year. About 1 million people in all Russian regions take part in various outdoors activities of the Winter Sports Day. They go to skating rinks and ski tracks, take part in different competitions, enjoy the performances of figure skaters, attend master classes of the famous.
