Exercises two, three and four.

Speaker 1: Welcome to our program, Mark. Hello. So, we're going to talk about people who go on holiday to dangerous places, sometimes even to war zones.

Speaker 2: That's right. Ah.

Speaker 1: And why do people visit these places? Is it simply because they get a kick out of the risk?

Speaker 2: No. That's not the only reason. You have to remember that a lot of these war-torn countries have a fascinating culture and have played a vital part in our history. Iraq is considered to be the cradle of civilization and has many fascinating places to visit like the ancient sites of Babylon, Basra and Ur. Of course, many archaeologists go to visit these places, but they're not the only ones who are interested in the amazing historical buildings there.

Speaker 1: And has anything happened to tourists in these places?

Speaker 2: Yes. Some have disappeared or have been killed or injured, but most tourists don't go to the areas where they might be killed. Tourists are warned to stay on safer routes and follow certain guidelines. The organizations who organize the trips advise people where to go and where not to go.

Speaker 1: Organizations, don't tell me there are actually organized trips to these areas. I can't believe it.

Speaker 2: Yes, there are travel agencies that specialize in this type of travel. Some people go on their own, of course, but they are the ones who are less likely to return home.

Speaker 1: And who goes on these trips? Is it mainly young people?

Speaker 2: Well, you get people of all ages, but not too many young people. Young people tend to prefer other types of dangerous travel like adventure holidays in jungles. In fact, quite a high proportion of the people who go are pensioners.

Speaker 1: But why should older people be attracted to this kind of holiday? Is it because they don't value their lives anymore?

Speaker 2: Well, some older travelers have admitted that they are more prepared to take risks at this point in their lives. However, that's not the main reason. They go because they want to experience life to the full wherever that may take them. Another reason is that they are tired of traveling to the usual countries and they're looking for something different.
