M Henry VIII came to the throne of England in 1509. He was instructed to marry Catherine of Aragon, which he did. Henry became heir to the throne because his elder brother had died. During his first years of rule Henry did a lot for his country. He defeated both the French and the Scottish in battle in 1512 and 1513. Peace was made with France in 1514. Henry is the most famous king of England who had six wives and was the founder of the Church of England.
