A: That's a very nice photo of you with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Everyone who looks at it immediately understands that you've been to Paris.

B: Yes, you're right. The Eiffel Tower has long been the symbol of the city.

A: How long? When was it constructed?

B: As I know, the tower was built by Alexandre Eiffel for the Paris Exposition of 1889. Now it is the main tourist attraction of the city. I went up in the lift and admired Paris from the height of 300 metres.

A: Lucky you. Eiffel was a talented engineer, wasn't he? What else did he build?

B: He designed a lot of outstanding bridges in many parts of the world and contributed to the construction of the famous Statue of Liberty.

A: Really? How interesting! What you have just said about Eiffel reminds me about the great Russian engineer Vladimir Shukhov. Have you ever heard about him?

B: Not much. I just know that he constructed a very unusual tower in Moscow and one of the streets in our city has his name.

A: Yes, that's absolutely right.
