You will hear five people speaking. Match what they say with the statements in your workbook. There is one statement you don't have to use.

Speaker one.

Many people who watch these Samurai films appreciate the similarities they have with the traditional Western films. What many people do not realize is how much they really have in common. The cinema of Japan is as enthusiastic about the Samurai as the cinema of America is with Cowboys. Both genres are very similar and one of them main characters use swords, in the other they use guns. Both rode horses, but you will never mix them up.

Speaker two.

Here are some facts about Daniel Radcliffe. His full name is Daniel Jacob Radcliffe. He's best known for his role as the Wizard Harry Potter. Born in London in one thousand nine hundred eighty-nine, he first expressed a desire to act at the age of five. In December one thousand nine hundred ninety-nine, he made his acting debut in the BBC's television version of the Charles Dickens's novel David Copperfield. He played the leading role. In August two thousand, he was chosen for his most prominent role, Harry Potter.

Speaker three.

Children in Russia like cartoons. The films from the world of animation charm grown-ups too. Some of them have won fans outside the country. One of them is the tale of Cheburashka. The large-eared, strange looking creature, and his friend Gena, the crocodile. The strange animal gets his name because he continually falls over from a chair in a shop, and the shop owner calls him a Cheburashka from the Russian verb to fall over.

Speaker four.

Superhero movies have always been the public favorite. It seems true that many people, regardless of age, enjoy watching films based on superheroes. These heroes are often violent. They defeat their enemies, killing and torturing them. Thus, children viewers, who are often too young, are exposed to violence and take superheroes as their role models. Scientific researches show that children who are exposed to violence at a young age have more chances of getting into fights at school. In fact, such films are the first steps to children's violent behavior.

Speaker five.

Everybody seems to know this famous actor, Sean Connery and his unforgettable words, Bond, James Bond. He was born into a working class family and spent his young years in the neighborhood of Edinburgh. At that time, nothing gave any indication of his success. He spent much of his youth working here and there. After three years of naval service, he returned to his native city where he worked as a brick layer, life guard, and coffin polisher. He began his theatrical career playing small parts and modeling. From this modest beginning, he has become an international film icon.
