Multiple matching

There are five monologues in this part of the exam, with six statements to match them with. Remember that the statements express the main idea of what the speakers say. Read the statements before you listen and underline the key words. Try to think of words that mean the same as the words you underlined – the exact words will not be in the recording – or words connected to them ("board" and "classroom", for example). Try to think of why the speaker is talking – are they trying to describe something, explain something, or do something else? Be careful because the monologues are all related by subject matter.
