Speaker A: I'm surprised that people don't use earphones while driving. They take so little time to get used to, but with them, it's much easier and more comfortable to use the phone in the car. I use Bluetooth, but even the wired versions are much better than trying to juggle the phone while driving.

Speaker B: I think that even with a hands-free kit, it is difficult to concentrate on driving. Anybody who thinks otherwise is just mad. Off-road vehicles and vans are the worst offenders on the roads. I'm sure that the sooner penalties get tougher, the better.

Speaker C: I've seen lots of people texting while driving. Moving off from lights is an example. I think it's more difficult to spot by the police, and needs at least one hand plus eyes not on road. It's really dangerous.

Speaker D: I think that the police should be given powers to confiscate the mobile for seven days, and the offending driver has to collect it from the police station. The thought of losing their precious mobile phone will make people think twice before using it while driving. Recent research found that a mobile phone owner would rather lose their wallet, money, or keys than their mobile.

Speaker E: I rarely need to use a mobile phone in the car, and nearly always only to receive a call. Because it is so rare, I don't constantly wear my hands-free earpiece while driving, and have to both fumble around for it and then fiddle to fit, and remember how to operate it. Far more dangerous than just pressing yes to receive the call.
