My favourite room at the moment is our study which is the biggest room in the house. It is full of wonderful things: books, pictures, collections of coins and stamps, a video and a computer. There is a very old writing table in the study. My great-granddad bought it at the beginning of the century when he was a student. It's very unusual. There is a sofa in the corner of the room and next to it just at the wall a beautiful old standard lamp, which is on the carpet. I clean the carpet with the vacuum cleaner very often on my helping about the house day.

There is a piano near the window. At night, when it gets dark, I like to turn off the light, turn on the standard lamp and play the piano. When the standard lamp is on, the study looks like a little fairy land. I often sit in the old armchair and dream.

My favourite room is the one where I play my music. I have got a very good stereo system. That's my hobby. This room is good. But I have a problem. There is no central heating in it, and it is the coldest room in winter. I can never get warm enough with the fire. And another thing that is wrong with it is that there is a very big window there. In summer, when it's very hot, I can't open it because my neighbours don't like loud music, and it's all out in the street when I play my favourite music with the window open.

The first picture (top) shows the room from text 1, which is a study. The second picture (bottom) shows the room from text 2, where the person plays music.

My favourite room is my bedroom. It is not very big, but it is very cosy. There is a bed, a desk where I do my homework, and a wardrobe for my clothes. I have a lot of posters on the walls. I like this room because it is my personal space where I can relax and listen to music.
