the BIG DEBATE: Should fashion be an important part of our lives?

For some people, fashion is a way of life and a way of making a statement about their identity. For others, it is just a frivolous pastime which costs a lot of money.

I think it is important to be fashionable. It's good to keep up to date with the latest things. Every generation has its own style and that's important – it's part of our identity.

I disagree. Clothes are unimportant. People should forget about outward appearances and take more interest in things that really matter in the world. Most fashion items are ridiculous anyway!
