My name is Robin, and I'd like to tell you what happened to us.

We were a big and happy family. Me, my two sisters, my younger brother and our parents.

I thought it would go on forever.

But one day out of the blue came the news about our father's heart problem.

It turned out to be very serious.

Dad was taken to hospital for an operation on his heart.

It was too late.

He died even before they started the treatment.

Needless to say, it was a shock for everybody, especially mom.

For some time, it looked like she would never get over this tragedy.

Help came from our relations.

First, my grandparents invited us to stay with them in their house in the countryside.

They did their best to make us kids as comfortable and happy as they could.

Granddad took us to a number of places we'd never visited before and told us everything he knew about them.

When we returned home, we found the big round table in dining room laid with tasty dishes Granny had cooked for the family.

In the evenings, we were often visited by our aunts and uncles, mom's sisters and brothers.

They also did everything to fill the house with warmth and care.

Suddenly, I began to feel very close to them.

I knew very well that they could not replace our father, but they gave us so much of their love and support.

Now I know how important it is to have a family, people who share everything with you.
