🔍 Saying foreign words in English

There are some foreign words and phrases which are commonly used in English because we don't have another word for them, e.g. coup /kuː/ (French), angst /æŋst/ (German). They're usually said in a way that is close to their original pronunciation, so they don't necessarily follow normal English pronunciation patterns.

Yes, of course! In Russian, we use a lot of English words, especially in everyday speech among young people. For example, we often say "окей" (okay), "хайп" (hype), "мерч" (merch), or "челлендж" (challenge).
I think they are used because it sounds modern and cool. Also, many of these words come from the internet, video games, and movies, and sometimes there isn't a perfect single word in Russian to describe the same thing.
We try to pronounce them close to the original English, but usually with a bit of a Russian accent, so it's not exactly the same.
